…but you get what you need.

February 19, 2010

I never expected there to be a whole week in 2010 that I didn’t receive a contribution to the project – but, as that old boy band shouts with wide open mouths in my neural jukebox not knowing the weight of their own words, you can’t always get what you wa-ant. Week 7 turned out to be less than I was waiting for.

This is not a big deal for the progress of the Art of Waiting – the project is designed to cause us to wait.

A problem that I’ve developed; however, is a tendency to sit at my computer even without an update to post. Aimless. I should do something, I think to myself. But what? There are many things, maybe if I wait here, something will come…

I’m not sure about the rest of the contributors, but I’ve tried to give some thought to the things associated with waiting that would be considered positive. Patience. Anticipation. Expectation. Maturity.

What about procrastination? That’s a kind of waiting too, right? There’s not much positive about it, other than I’m positive we all do it a little too much. Or, maybe if I think we ALL do it too much, I won’t feel as bad about it myself.

This post is kind of disjointed, so I’ll leave you with this visual dessert to top off your week.
